Famed for its patented Gator Grip handle, the Gerber Gator fixed fine edge knife has no peer when it comes to all-out grip. The inner core of the handle is constructed of glass-filled nylon, and then the Santoprene rubber is chemically bonded to it to create a soft, tactile grip over a very strong structure. The 4.5-inch drop point blade is made from 440HC Stainless Steel, and it comes with a durable sheath made of ballistic nylon with a molded plastic insert. Its handle also includes a lanyard hole. The Gator measures 9.5 inches overall, and it weighs 5.4 ounces. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The knife is very sharp, sturdy and well built. The blade has retained a very sharp edge with use. The handle is also comfortable and has provided a positive grip both in dry and wet condition. The sheath has a hard insert that makes it appear very sturdy. The sheath feels and looks safer to me than many other fixed blade knives on the market. Best of all this is an American made product. I recommend this knife to anyone looking for a quality, American built, fixed blade knife. I wanted something that was full-tang and not serrated. It fits my (big) hands perfectly and takes a lot of hard use. The grip is hard rubber, which helps maintain a grip when working in damp conditions, as well as making it more comfortable overall.
